OUR STORY

What started as a single retail apparel brand built on humble beginnings by longtime best friends evolved through more than a decade of hands-on experience, hard lessons, and a relentless pursuit of doing things the right way.

After navigating the challenging realities of production & supply chain logistics, fixing the gaps most companies overlook, and realizing their true value was in helping others execute at a higher level, they built We the Free Co. into a full-service partner focused on precision, reliability, and delivering a finished product that not only meets expectations, but consistently exceeds them.

Joe Karsznia

Joe puts God first, cherishes his wife, and loves his dogs. A firearms enthusiast, he enjoys collecting guns and likes to spend his free time at the range. He appreciates a good glass of bourbon and has a dream of building a barndominium on 10 acres one day.

Joe is known for his meticulous attention to technical details, ensuring every client’s vision is executed to perfection. His passion comes from the many winding roads he and Dave experienced on their entrepreneurial journey, marked by perseverance and a commitment to never giving up.

Dave Ragona

Rooted in faith, family, and love of country, Dave is driven by the love of providing for his wife and two sons, giving them the life they deserve. He collects Crusades-era medieval weaponry and is a firearms aficionado. He lives with gratitude for his incredible family and his best friend Joe. A glass of Redbreast whiskey by a fine fire is his favorite way to unwind. He credits his parents for instilling the values that guide both his life and work.

With a background in art and business building, Dave is known for his out-of-the-box thinking, spotting opportunities others might miss and crafting creative solutions. His passion was forged through starting with one small machine and growing to their first retail storefront, always driven by a desire to exceed expectations and care for others.

When clients work with We the Free, Dave ensures they feel their goals are as important to him as his own, always putting their success first.

The story of two longtime best friends, turning years of hard-earned experience into We the Free, a company dedicated to helping others thrive through every challenge.

2012: The Beginning

After more than twelve years of friendship, Joe Karsznia and Dave Ragona entered the apparel industry with the launch of Crook County, a retail apparel brand. What began as a creative outlet quickly became a hands-on education in production, branding, and execution. With Joe’s technical mindset and Dave’s artistic background, they built a foundation of both creativity and structure.

2012-2021: Experience Earned the Hard Way

Over the next decade, Crook County grew while Joe and Dave managed events, production, and vendors, learning through real challenges. They built a trusted network and set a higher standard for execution.

2021: For Love of Country

After selling the Crook County brand, they launched Ironclad Resolve, a patriotic brand that sent a bold message during what they believed was a significant time of need for American pride and strength. Soon, other businesses sought them out, not just for products, but for guidance. It was clear their expertise was needed beyond their own brand.

2021-2022: The Realization

Joe and Dave realized their greatest value was helping other businesses succeed. Companies didn’t just need products; they needed a partner who could strategize, manage, and consistently deliver. This insight set the stage for something bigger.

2022: We the Free is Born

This led to We the Free Co., a company built to be a true partner, not just a vendor. Starting with apparel and custom merch, they quickly expanded into signage, event materials, and more, focusing on being the reliable solution businesses could count on.

2022-2025: Expansion Into Full-Service

We the Free grew into a full-service operation: apparel, signage, marketing, fulfillment. Every detail is checked, every project intentional, ensuring each final product surpasses expectations.

2025-Present: Built For Long-Term Partnerships

What began as one apparel brand has become a company trusted to simplify operations and elevate brands. We the Free is the team businesses rely on when it matters, ensuring everything runs better with the right partner by their side.
